It was late at night, and exhaustion weighed heavily on my eyelids as I lay beside Aastha's lifeless body. The silence of the room was broken only by the wind blowing outside the window which was wide open.
Suddenly, I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder, and I slowly opened my eyes to find Nina and Chittra standing beside me. I couldn't bear to meet their gaze, feeling the weight of their disappointment heavy upon me.
"I'm sorry," I whispered softly, my voice barely audible in the dimly lit room. "I know what I did was ….. really…. really stupid, but I had to do it for Kiaan. I promised Aastha that we would take care of him."
I expected their anger to flare up once again, but instead, Chittra wrapped her arms around me from behind, pulling me into a comforting embrace. Nina joined in, and soon we were enveloped in a warm hug.
"I'm sorry for everything I said," Nina murmured, her voice tinged with remorse.
Chittra echoed her sentiments, "Forgive me too, Ridhima."
